Service / Maintenance
Stairlifts and Wheelchair Lifts
Stairlifts & Scooters have qualified technicians available for any service, maintenance and breakdown that may be required for your lift 24 hours, 7 days a week.
We have service and maintenance plans to suit every budget. With
a service and maintenance plan you have peace of mind knowing that
your investment will be kept in a safe and reliable working order.
If you are after a service and maintenance agreement a FREE NO OBLIGATION survey may be undertaken on the lift involved first. We offer competitive packages to suit most budgets and the work is carried out by experienced, dedicated and professional technicians - with every working part attended to in detail.
All work that is carried out on lifts is fully guaranteed and backed up by liability insurance cover. It is recommended that your lifts are serviced and a technician carries out a safety inspection and routine maintenance every 6 months. This should ensure that your stairlift remains safe and in proper working order and problem free!
Please feel free to call our office on 1300 888 390 to discuss any service or maintenance enquires.
Scooters
Fortunately modern mobility scooters are very reliable but it is a good idea to have an annual service to keep your scooter or power chair in tip-top condition.
When we service your scooter we check the following:
- that all the nuts and bolts are tight
- the tyre pressures and condition of the tyres
- the battery for correct voltage
- the electric motor brushes are checked and cleaned
- that all the lights are working
- the scooter is cleaned
- and, on larger models the front end is greased.
Service and maintenance plans are also available, ask us for details.
Here are a few other tips to keep your scooters running smoothly. A yearly service is recommended to keep your scooter reliable. It is recommended to get into the routine of charging your batteries when you return from a journey. (Always read your user handbook for a guide to battery charging). Not only will this help with the term life of your batteries it will also reduce the chances of you running out of power and being stranded.
Try to keep your scooter clean, tidy and if possible avoid getting it wet. There may be times when you will get caught in the rain so you can help protect your scooter (and yourself!) with rain covers or canopy - you will find our range of accessories on our scooters accessories page. If your scooter does get wet when you return home wipe down your scooter with a clean cloth paying particular attention to the seat and upholstery. This will help stop any premature corrosion. Also try and keep your mobility scooter dry by using a wet weather cover - see our range of accessories.
